Air Line State Park Trail

The Air Line State Park Trail is a former railroad corridor in Connecticut repurposed as a linear greenway and state park since 1969. The trail is divided into three main sections — South, North, and Thompson — threading through woodland, wetlands, and rural Connecticut countryside over several dozen miles. The northern section forms part of the East Coast Greenway, an ambitious long-distance route planned to connect Florida to Maine. Following the gentle grade of the old rail bed, the trail is well suited for hikers, cyclists, and trail runners, with the flat-to-rolling terrain making it accessible for families and casual riders alike.
