Alexandru Vaida Voevod 1872-1950

This public artwork in Hermannstadt (Sibiu) commemorates Alexandru Vaida-Voevod (1872–1950), one of Transylvania's most prominent Romanian politicians of the early twentieth century. A leading figure in the Romanian National Party, he played a central role in the unification of Transylvania with Romania in 1918 and served three times as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Romania — in 1919–20, 1932, and 1933. The memorial marks a key figure in Romanian national politics and the turbulent interwar period in Transylvania.
