Alsea Bay Bridge

The Alsea Bay Bridge is a concrete arch bridge completed in 1936, carrying US Route 101 over the mouth of the Alsea Bay near Waldport, Oregon. It was one of several distinctive Oregon coast bridges built under New Deal federal programs, designed to complete the Pacific Coast Highway as a continuous coastal route. Crossing it today offers open views over the wide tidal estuary of the Alsea River, the surrounding dunes, and the Pacific — a characteristic panorama of Oregon's rugged central coast.
