Wind Cave National Park Administrative and Utility Area Historic District

The Wind Cave National Park Administrative and Utility Area Historic District covers the central cluster of buildings surrounding the historic cave entrance in South Dakota's Wind Cave National Park. Most structures were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s in the Parkitecture style — a deliberate rustic idiom of local stone and timber designed to harmonize with the natural landscape, characteristic of New Deal–era park infrastructure across the American West. The district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, making it a record of both Depression-era public works and the early administrative history of the park. Wind Cave itself is among the world's longest and most geologically complex cave systems, renowned for its rare boxwork calcite formations.
