Old Railway Bridge

The Old Railway Bridge over the Sava was Belgrade's very first fixed river crossing — when it opened, no permanent bridge existed over the Sava anywhere in the Serbian capital. Notably, the Danube, the larger of Belgrade's two rivers, wasn't bridged until roughly fifty years later, underscoring just how pivotal this steel structure was to the city's development. It represents a milestone in Serbian railway and infrastructure history. The bridge is now largely out of service, but its riverbank setting offers quiet views across the Sava toward the Belgrade skyline.
