Ankara - İstanbul high-speed railway

The Ankara–Istanbul high-speed line is a purpose-built TCDD route that has connected the Turkish capital to the country's largest city since its full inauguration on 25 July 2014. The Yüksek Hızlı Tren (YHT) covers the roughly 530-kilometre route in just over four hours, cutting the journey time of the old conventional line by more than two hours. Constructed in several phases, the line forms part of Turkey's broader programme to modernise its national rail network.
