Former football stadium in Ankara, built 1930, closed and demolished after 2018.
The Ankara 19 Mayıs Stadium was the main football venue of the Turkish capital, part of the 19 Mayıs Sports Complex in the Ulus district. Built in 1930, it seated around 19,200 spectators and served as the home ground for Gençlerbirliği and Ankaragücü. Its name commemorates 19 May 1919, the date Atatürk began the Turkish War of Independence. After nearly nine decades of use, the stadium closed in 2018 and has since been demolished as part of urban redevelopment.
