The Ankara–Sivas high-speed railway opened in 2023 as part of Turkey's expanding TCDD network, linking the capital Ankara with the provincial city of Sivas roughly 450 kilometers to the east. The route crosses the rugged Anatolian plateau, a landscape that required extensive tunneling and viaduct construction along the alignment. Journey times between the two cities were cut significantly compared to the previous conventional rail connection. As transport infrastructure, the line itself holds no tourist draw, but it opens up a historically isolated part of central Anatolia to faster rail access.
