ANZAC Parade

ANZAC Parade is a ceremonial boulevard in central Canberra designed as a formal sightline terminating at the Australian War Memorial. Prime Minister Robert Menzies inaugurated it on 25 April 1965, the 50th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings that shaped both Australian and New Zealand national identity. Lined with trees and regimental memorials, the avenue commemorates individual corps and campaigns across Australia's military history. Each year on ANZAC Day the parade becomes the focal point of national remembrance, drawing crowds for dawn services and wreath-laying ceremonies.
