Arapsu bridge

The Arapsu Bridge is a well-preserved Roman stone arch bridge spanning a small watercourse in the Arapsuyu district, roughly 5–6 km west of central Antalya. It sits at the foot of an ancient settlement mound archaeologists associate with Olbia, a coastal settlement whose precise location remains actively debated. What makes the bridge genuinely unusual is its unbroken utility: it has functioned as a pedestrian crossing continuously since antiquity, placing it among the rarest surviving examples of Roman civil engineering. The plain cut-stone arch shows little modern intervention, offering an unusually direct encounter with provincial Roman road-building in what was once Pamphylia.
