Asparuhov bridge

The Asparuhov Bridge is a box-girder road bridge carrying Bulgarian national route I-9 across the eastern port canal of Varna, roughly three kilometres southwest of the city centre. Opened in September 1976, it was a late infrastructure project of Bulgaria's socialist period. By maximum span it remains the second-longest bridge in the country, behind only the Danube Bridge 2 near Vidin. Crossing it offers open views over the Varna port and the canal below.
