Ponte do Freixo

The Ponte do Freixo is an eight-lane cable-stayed motorway bridge over the Douro, opened in 1995 to carry the A20 motorway and the IC23 inner-ring road between Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. It forms the eastern Douro crossing, pairing with the older Ponte da Arrábida built in 1963 on Porto's western side. Functional 1990s highway engineering with no touristic or cultural significance.
