Atlas Studios

Atlas Corporation Studios, on the northwestern edge of Ouarzazate, are the hub of Morocco's film industry and among the largest studios on the African continent. Founded in 1983, the lot has served as backdrop for dozens of major international productions including Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones, earning Ouarzazate the nickname 'Ouallywood'. The extraordinary desert light of the Draa Valley and the surrounding kasbah landscapes have made this region a go-to location for epic historical and adventure films for over four decades. Visitors can tour the standing sets — reconstructed Egyptian temples, ancient city facades — on guided walkthroughs of the working studio grounds.
