Cultural Heritage
Hakone-Yumoto Station, opened in 1919 during Japan's Taisho era, sits in Kanagawa Prefecture and functions as the interchange between Odakyū Dentetsu trains arriving from Tokyo and the narrow-gauge Hakone Tozan Tetsudō mountain railway heading further into the hills. For most visitors it is a practical transfer point en route to the wider Hakone resort and hot-spring area rather than a destination in its own right, and the station building itself carries no particular architectural or historical distinction.
