Kamakura Station

Kamakura Station, opened in 1889 during Japan's Meiji-era railway expansion, sits in Kanagawa Prefecture on the island of Honshū and is operated today by JR East. It functions as the main transit hub for the city of Kamakura and connects to the Enoden (Enoshima Electric Railway) line that hugs the local coastline. For most visitors it serves as the practical starting point for exploring Kamakura's temples, shrines, and beaches rather than as a destination in its own right.
