Kumagaya Station

Kumagaya Station sits in Saitama Prefecture on the island of Honshū and first opened in 1883 during the Meiji era, as Japan was rapidly building its national rail network. Today it is jointly operated by JR East and the Chichibu Tetsudō railway and serves as a notable regional hub: in addition to local services, Jōetsu and Hokuriku Shinkansen trains stop here, making Kumagaya a convenient gateway to the northern Kantō region.
