Sakudaira Station

Sakudaira Station is a JR East–operated stop in the city of Saku, Nagano Prefecture, on the island of Honshū. Opened in 1997, it is one of the relatively few rural Shinkansen stations, placing the surrounding region within roughly 80 minutes of Tokyo via the Hokuriku and Nagano Shinkansen lines. For most visitors it functions as a transit gateway to the mountainous Nagano countryside rather than a destination in its own right.
