Takasaki Station

Takasaki Station sits in Gunma Prefecture on Honshū and serves as one of northern Kantō's most significant rail junctions. Founded in 1884 during the Meiji era — when Japan was rapidly building out its national rail network — it is today jointly operated by JR East and the private Jōshin Dentetsu line. Several Shinkansen services stop here, including trains toward Niigata and Nagano, making it a practical gateway for day trips into the Japanese Alps and coastal regions.
