Shrirampur railway station

Shrirampur railway station sits on the Howrah–Bardhaman main line, one of the oldest railway corridors on the Indian subcontinent. It opened in 1854 during the British colonial period, when the town of Serampore still carried the legacy of its earlier Danish colonial settlement. Today it functions primarily as a commuter stop serving local traffic between Bandel and the greater Kolkata region.
