Ueda Station

Ueda Station sits in the city of Ueda, Nagano Prefecture, and has been in operation since 1888, making it one of the older stations in the region. It is jointly operated by three railway companies — JR East, Shinano Railway, and Ueda Dentetsu — and serves as a Shinkansen stop on the Hokuriku Shinkansen line, connecting Ueda to Tokyo in under 90 minutes. For visitors it functions primarily as a transit hub for the surrounding area, including nearby Ueda Castle and the mountain scenery of Nagano.
