Nagano Station

Nagano Station is a major rail hub in the prefectural capital of Nagano, Honshū, originally opened in 1888 during the Meiji-era modernization of Japan's rail network. It is jointly operated by JR East, Shinano Tetsudō, and Nagano Dentetsu. The station gained international prominence as the gateway for the 1998 Winter Olympics, and the Hokuriku Shinkansen now connects it to Tokyo in around 80 minutes.
