Wellington Railway Station

Wellington Railway Station is a classicist terminal building completed in 1937, marking the northern terminus of New Zealand's North Island Main Trunk line. Its symmetrical stone facade is characteristic of the restrained public architecture favoured by New Zealand's government building programme during the interwar period. Today the station functions primarily as a commuter hub for suburban rail services and serves as a gateway for passengers connecting to the Interislander ferry crossing to Picton.
