Florence–Rome railway

The Florence–Rome railway is a 314 km electrified main line connecting the Tuscan capital with Rome, operated by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana. Colloquially known as the "Linea lenta" (slow line), it runs largely parallel to the high-speed "Direttissima" and forms part of the European rail corridor Berlin–Palermo. For travellers it serves as a slower, lower-cost alternative to the high-speed services between the two cities.
