Basilica of Our Lady Help of Christians

The Basilica of Our Lady Help of Christians is the abbey church of Belmont Abbey, a Benedictine monastery in Belmont, North Carolina, founded in 1876 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The abbey was established during a period of active Benedictine expansion across the post-Civil War American South, making it one of the older Catholic monastic institutions in the region. Visitors may attend public liturgies following the traditional Benedictine Divine Office, which continues to structure daily life for the resident monastic community.
