Bay of Grama

The Bay of Grama sits on the western flank of the Karaburun Peninsula along Albania's Ionian coast and is accessible only by boat. The sheer limestone cliffs above the waterline bear Greek and Latin inscriptions carved by ancient mariners — merchants and sailors who sheltered here from the open sea and left their mark in stone. The water is among the clearest on the Albanian coast, and snorkelers can spot ancient stone anchors resting on the seabed below. Boat trips from Vlora are the standard way in; the cove remains undeveloped and largely untouched.
