Istanbul's oldest surviving imperial mosque — built from 1501 to 1506 for Sultan Bayezid II, son of Mehmed the Conqueror. Its dome composition reveals the influence of Hagia Sophia and it stands on the site of the ancient Forum of Theodosius.
