The first bridge in the world to connect two continents - opened in 1973 for the 50th anniversary of the Turkish Republic. 1,560 metres of suspended span, 165 metres above the Bosphorus. Renamed "Bridge of the Martyrs of 15 July" after the 2016 coup attempt that escalated here - one of the most politically charged structures in Istanbul.
