Beitang cathedral

The North Church with its white twin towers tells four centuries of Christian history in Beijing. Founded by Jesuits in 1703, moved to Xishiku Street in 1888, and besieged during the Boxer Rebellion of 1900. Today one of China principal cathedrals and a quiet refuge in the loud capital.
