Bejaia Soummam Airport is a regional international airport in northern Algeria serving the Bejaia area and the Kabylie region. Opened in 1958 during the final years of French colonial rule, it was later renamed in honor of Abane Ramdane, a key architect of the Algerian independence movement who died under disputed circumstances in 1957. The airport primarily handles domestic routes and seasonal flights connecting the Algerian diaspora in France.
