Bernardinai Garden

Bernardinai Garden occupies a quietly privileged spot in Vilnius's Old Town, wedged between the Gediminas Hill, the Vilnia river, and the historic Bernardine convent. During the Soviet era it was reduced to a plain municipal park under the name Sereikiškės Park, but after Lithuanian independence it was meticulously reconstructed following 19th-century designs by painter Vladislovas Strausas — giving it the feel of a carefully tended Romantic-era garden, with curved paths, flower beds, and mature trees. Its position directly beneath Gediminas Hill frames postcard views of the medieval tower that defines Vilnius's skyline. The garden opens early and stays open until 23:00 in summer, making it a natural gathering point for both locals and visitors exploring the surrounding Old Town.
