Busch–Reisinger Museum

The Busch-Reisinger Museum is the only institution in North America dedicated solely to art from German-speaking countries, housed since 2008 within Harvard University's combined art museums complex in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Founded in 1903 as the Germanic Museum with an emphasis on plaster casts of medieval sculpture, its mission shifted dramatically in the mid-20th century as émigré artists and scholars fleeing Nazi Germany enriched its holdings in Expressionism, Bauhaus, and postwar abstraction. Works by Lyonel Feininger, Paul Klee, and Oskar Schlemmer are among its most significant pieces. Sharing Renzo Piano's purpose-built building with the Fogg Art Museum and the Arthur M. Sackler Museum, it offers visitors access to three distinct collections in a single visit, with wheelchair access throughout.
