Tang Dynasty pottery site in Hunan, nationally protected, known for glazed export ceramics.

The Tongguan Kiln, also known as the Changsha Kiln, was a major pottery production site during the Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD) on the banks of the Xiang River in Hunan Province. It produced unusually diverse ceramics for its era, including glazed wares with figurative motifs and calligraphy that were exported as far as the Middle East. The site is now a nationally protected cultural monument in China. Archaeological excavations have uncovered thousands of sherds and kiln structures that document the high level of craftsmanship of the period.
