DakotaDome

The DakotaDome is an indoor multi-purpose stadium on the University of South Dakota campus in Vermillion, opened in 1979 at a cost of $8.2 million. The 9,100-seat domed venue serves as the home of the South Dakota Coyotes, hosting football, track and field, and swimming and diving under one roof — an unusually broad athletic portfolio for a campus facility of its size. Built during an era when enclosed stadiums were transforming collegiate athletics in cold-weather states, the dome remains a central hub of university life in one of South Dakota's smaller cities. Game days bring the full college-sports experience: student sections, marching band, and a venue where nearly every seat feels close to the action.
