Fahnenstein

The Fahnenstein is a distinctive sandstone outcrop in the Deister, a forested ridge southwest of Hannover, and one of the most popular viewpoints in the Bad Münder area. The rock breaks above the mixed beech forest and offers wide views across the Calenberger Land toward the Hannover skyline on clear days. It is reached via well-marked hiking trails from Bad Münder or along the Deister ridge — most routes are manageable for families with children. A freely accessible natural site with no entrance fee or visitor infrastructure, it is a classic day-trip destination into the Deister hills.
