Endem TV Tower

The Endem Television Tower is a 257-metre reinforced concrete tower in Istanbul's western Buyukcekmece district, built between 1998 and 2008. Its visitor area, set between 148 and 160 metres up, looks out across the suburbs along the Sea of Marmara and on clear days as far as the Bosphorus. The tower was part of an effort to consolidate the various transmitter masts scattered across the Cendere and Camlica hills, though it has since been overshadowed by the newer Kuecuek Camlica tower on the Asian side. Endem still operates as a broadcasting site and is mostly visited for its quiet panorama over the western edge of the city, well away from the bustle of the historic peninsula.
