Güneştekin Art Studio

The Güneştekin Art Studio is a four-story atelier and gallery space in Istanbul belonging to Ahmet Güneştekin, one of Turkey's most internationally recognized contemporary artists. His practice weaves together Anatolian mythology, religious iconography, and collective memory into large-scale paintings, ceramic sculptures, and immersive installations. Skull and horn-like figures recur throughout the works, each carrying its own symbolic register — a visual language rooted equally in pre-Islamic Anatolian traditions and broader world mythologies. Güneştekin has shown major retrospectives beyond the studio, including a widely noted exhibition at the historic Feshane industrial hall. The studio rewards more than one visit: a first pass builds visual awareness, a second reveals the layered symbolism beneath.
