The Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater is the most prominent drama venue in Kyiv, founded in 1920. Named after Ukrainian writer and national hero Ivan Franko, the theater has long served as a home for Ukrainian language, stage art, and cultural identity. Its repertoire spans Ukrainian and international classics, performed on both the main stage and the chamber stage. Great actors such as Bohdan Benyuk and Natalia Sumskaya have shaped the ensemble over the decades. Today the theater stands as a symbol of Ukrainian cultural resilience.
