Askold's Grave

Historic park on Dnipro bluff, presumed grave of Varangian princes Askold and Dir (882), Kyiv.

Askold's Grave is a historic park in Kyiv's Pechersk district and a national cultural monument of Ukraine. According to the Nestor Chronicle, this is the burial site of Varangian princes Askold and Dir, killed by Prince Oleg in 882. A 19th-century rotunda chapel stands over the presumed grave. The park on the bluff above the Dnipro offers a picturesque river view.
