Prominent Lutheran church on Södermalm, rebuilt twice after fires – most recently in 1995.

Katarina kyrka stands on the island of Södermalm in Stockholm and is one of the capital's most prominent churches. The original building was constructed between 1656 and 1695. It has been rebuilt twice after devastating fires – most recently following the 1990 fire that destroyed most of the interior. The current church combines historic facade elements with a modern interior and is protected as a kyrkligt kulturminne (church cultural monument).
