König-Karl-Turm

On the 510-metre Einkorn ridge above Schwäbisch Hall-Hessental, two unlikely neighbours share the hilltop: a viewing tower and the ruin of a Baroque pilgrimage church once dedicated to the Fourteen Holy Helpers. The church was built in the 18th century to serve pilgrims and fell into decay after secularisation, leaving only weathered stone walls. The tower opens up views across the northern Limpurger Berge and the Kocher valley below. The summit is accessible only on foot via hiking trails from Hessental — no wheelchair access. The pairing of a crumbling sacred ruin and open hilltop panorama gives this quiet spot a character quite distinct from the busy old town of Schwäbisch Hall below.
