Paillon de Contes

The Paillon de Contes is a roughly 21-kilometer river in the Alpes-Maritimes department and one of the main branches of the Paillon system in the hinterland of Nice. It rises as the Ruisseau de Planfae in the Maritime Alps near the Col Saint-Roch in the commune of Luceram, flows southwards through the village of Contes, which gives it its name, and finally joins the Paillon as its right-bank tributary. The valley is shaped by steep terraced olive slopes and quiet mountain roads barely touched by tourism.
