SALT Galata

SALT Galata is a contemporary art and research institution occupying a late-19th-century neoclassical bank building in Istanbul's Galata neighborhood. The structure originally housed the Ottoman Bank, and its vaulted banking hall remains one of the most architecturally striking interiors in the building. The institution runs rotating exhibitions on visual and material culture alongside a publicly accessible archive and research library with free Wi-Fi. Open Tuesday to Saturday 11am–7pm and Sunday 11am–6pm, with an in-house café that makes it a comfortable place to linger beyond the gallery floors.
