Saraçhane Parkı

Saraçhane Parkı sits in Istanbul's Fatih district, nestled beside the 16th-century Şehzade Mosque and running along the base of the Valens Aqueduct — a remarkably intact Roman water channel completed around 375 AD under Emperor Valens to supply the city of Constantinople. The park offers a green pause in one of Istanbul's most densely layered historic neighborhoods: lawns, fountain plazas, shaded paths, and a playground draw a mix of families, dog walkers, and local residents. The lower edge of the park traces the aqueduct's arches directly, giving visitors an unusually close encounter with Roman engineering amid the noise of a still-busy city.
