Also known as: İşbank Museum, Turkey İş Bank Museum

Istanbul
  • Economic History

The İşbank Museum in Istanbul documents the history of Türkiye İş Bankası, the first bank of the Turkish Republic, founded in 1924 at the personal initiative of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The permanent collection traces the evolution of modern Turkish banking alongside the broader economic transformation of the early nation-state — from manual ledgers and early banknote printing to 20th-century branch banking and digital finance. Exhibits include historic teller equipment, accounting machines, and archival documents that bring early republican economic life into focus. Admission is free; open Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00–18:00.
