Aberfeldy Distillery

Founded in 1896 by John Dewar & Sons on the edge of the small Highland town of Aberfeldy, the distillery's Victorian production buildings are listed Category B — one of the few working Scotch whisky sites where the original industrial architecture is formally protected. The water source, the Pitilie Burn, is credited with giving Aberfeldy single malt its distinctively honeyed, malty character, the same backbone that has defined Dewar's blended Scotch for over a century. The distillery opens for guided tours from April through October, taking visitors through the traditional pot still rooms, with a retail shop stocking limited bottlings rarely found outside Scotland.
