Blair Athol Distillery sits on the edge of Pitlochry in Perthshire and is one of Scotland's oldest continuously operating whisky distilleries, founded in 1798 — predating the Excise Act of 1823 that legitimised and reshaped the Scottish whisky industry. The distillery buildings hold a Category B listing on Scotland's national heritage register, with the former distillery manager's house listed at Category C. Now operated by Diageo, Blair Athol produces a Highland single malt that forms the backbone of the Bell's blended whisky range. The site is open daily from 10:00 to 17:00 for guided tours, with a dedicated shop offering a range of expressions and exclusive bottlings.
