Ben Chonzie

Ben Chonzie is a 931-metre Munro in Perth and Kinross, Scotland, rising above the open moorland and heather landscape between Crieff and Loch Tay. Unlike many Scottish peaks, it lacks a dramatic rocky summit — its highest point sits on a broad, grassy plateau marked only by a large cairn, giving the mountain an understated, spacious character. The area is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), protecting its upland blanket bog and supporting populations of red grouse and other moorland bird species. The standard ascent from Glen Turret requires no technical skill, making it a popular but unhurried objective for Munro-baggers; on clear days the plateau rewards with open views across the rolling hills of Perthshire.
