Romanian cultural institute on the Pincio hill since 1920
On the Pincio hill near the Villa Borghese, Romania has maintained a research institute in Rome since 1920. Founded at the initiative of archaeologist Vasile Pârvan and historian Nicolae Iorga, it was designed to give Romanian scholars access to the city's archives and classical heritage. The current building dates from 1933, designed in a neoclassical style by Romanian architect Petre Antonescu. Today it operates under the Romanian Cultural Institute, hosting exhibitions, concerts, and academic events that bring Romanian culture to Rome.
