Portugal's national film museum and archive in Lisbon — daily screenings, a library and exhibitions on cinema history.
The Cinemateca Portuguesa – Museu do Cinema is Portugal's national film museum and film institute, based in Lisbon. Founded in 1948, it holds one of the most extensive film archives on the Iberian Peninsula, with thousands of titles spanning Portuguese and international cinema. The institution screens films daily in two cinema halls — from silent films to contemporary productions — and also houses a film library, a café and rotating exhibitions on film history. The Cinemateca is a reference point for film students, cinephiles and anyone who views cinema as cultural heritage.
