Admiralteyskaya

Admiralteyskaya station on the Frunzensko-Primorskaya line is the deepest metro station in Russia and the entire CIS, with platforms sitting roughly 86 metres below central St. Petersburg. Originally slated to open in 1997 alongside neighboring stations Sportivnaya and Chkalovskaya, construction difficulties left the fully built station as a ghost station for 14 years — trains passed through without stopping until its eventual opening in December 2011. The hall follows the classic Petersburgian metro aesthetic of pale marble and ornamental lighting. Located within walking distance of the Admiralty building and Nevsky Prospekt, the station is fully wheelchair accessible.
